FDA still has no recall after 400 new cases reported

The FDA has still not issued a recall of Chicken Jerky treats made in China. Even after 400 new cases of pets illnesses have been reported the FDA pulled these products. Warnings on these products have been posted on the FDA website since 2007, but most consumers do not check this sight before making purchases unless it has been in the media.

The FDA has not been able to pinpoint the specific toxicant as such the manufacturer has not been required to remove the products from the shelves of stores like Giant Eagle, Walmart, Walgreens and more. Plus coupons continue to be found in newspapers and circulars for these products.

Veterinarians are seeing Fanconi's Syndrome. An uncommon disease where elevated levels of glucose in urine but not in the bladder. Glucose damages the kidneys ability to reabsorb nutrients and electrolytes. Kidneys become a chronic compromised, sometimes resulting in death.

Laboratories are at a loss at what toxins to test for. If toxicologists have no idea what contaminant to test for it is like a stab in the dark.

A lengthy list can be found at Animal Parents Against Pet Treats Made in China Facebook Page.
