Kirkland Canned Dog Food possible problem

Reports of possible problems with Kirkland Dog food that is sold in stores like costco are thought by veterinarians to be linked to illness and some deaths in dogs. Kirkland canned food manufactured by American Nutrition in Ogden, UT. No independent laboratory testing has been conducted at this time.

The suspected food is Kirkland canned Lamb & Rice Dog Food with an expiration date of 2013.

Symptoms that have been reported are diarrhea and vomiting. There has been one pet diagnosed with malabsorption syndrome, which is when the small intestines can not absorb nutrients from the food.

These reports are not confirmed at this time so if you feed Kirkland canned food please watch your pet very carefully for any changes. If you see any abnormal behavior in your pet please consult your veterinarian right away.
