Recall of Bravo Dog & Cat Food

On March 14, 2013 Bravo voluntarily issued a recall on their 2 lb. tubes of chicken blend raw frozen diet food for both dogs and cats.  Tubes with produced date of June 14, 2012 and product code: 21-102, batch ID code 6 14 12 only.    Due to a potential salmonella risk found in a single retail location tested by Minnesota Department of Agriculture.

Anyone who has an open tube from the above mentioned lot is asked to dispose of it properly and to wash your hands thoroughly.  You may return the washed plastic batch ID tag to the store where  purchased for a full refund. Salmonella contamination is harmful to humans as well as pets.  Some signs to look for:

In your pet are lethargic and have diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, fever, and vomiting. Some pets  will have only decreased appetite, fever and abdominal pain.  

People should monitor themselves for some or all of the following symptoms: nausea,  vomiting, diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, abdominal cramping and fever. Rarely, Salmonella can result in more serious ailments, including arterial  infections, endocarditis, arthritis, muscle pain, eye irritation, and urinary  tract symptoms.
